What makes him Paint? He goes back to the time when he was a small child of five, and his father brought a statue of Buddha to the house. “I wanted to paint it at once, so I went and bought myself two pieces of chalk, it was so exciting to get those two pieces of chalk even longer than my fingers and then I started to draw the figures on the ground”.

“Thota Tharrani, also studied at William Hayter’s Atelier 17 and at the Garhi workshop, Delhi: he experimented with printmaking techniques, creating texture and special effects, especially by using tape to mask certain areas of the plate and by developing new ways of super-imposing different parts of the plate to create collage-like effects.”
